The Santa Barbara Writers Conference aims to connect writers with mentors, agents and editors. It brings together writers in many genres from around the world to participate in a magical week of intensive work focused on the story, voice, craft, marketing, and networking with fellow writers and professionals. It includes six days and nights of 30+ writing workshops, panels, speakers, agents, and fellow word-crafters.
The conference includes a diversity of workshops and speakers covering various literary genres, storytelling, and book marketing. The panels will cover topics such as Memoir, Murder, Mystery and Thriller, and Author Platform.
All SBWC workshops are open to all registered SBWC attendees.
All SBWC attendees may have one free 10-page manuscript consultation if their manuscripts are received by June 1. Manuscripts received after June 1 are subject to availability of appointments.
Agent registration is also open. All 6 agents still have open appointments so if you are ready to talk to an agent, here is your chance. The deadline for getting advance pages to your agent picks is May 19, 2023. Instructions on our agent page.
The three-day conference will take place at the Mar. Monte Hotel in Santa Barbara. Admission is $799 for all six days or $165 per day.
