The event takes place via Zoom, so authors can attend from anywhere. The program begins at 9:00 a.m. Arizona time and features four focused sessions covering writing, publishing, audiobook preparation, and book marketing and sales.
The Summit brings together four speakers, each focusing on a different part of the publishing journey.
The day begins at 9:05 a.m. with author Ben Spada and his session, “Bad Times, Good Lessons: Turning Lived Experience into Narrative Tension.”
Spada is the author of the award-winning Black Spear military thriller series and numerous short stories. His professional background includes service as a career officer in the United States Marine Corps, martial arts instruction, and work with the Wounded Warrior Battalion.
At 10:25 a.m., A.G. Billig leads the publishing session, “The Author Growth Framework: Build Your Brand. Grow Your Audience. Promote Your Book.”
As an author and publishing strategist, A.G. Billig will focus on the connection between an author’s brand, audience growth, and book promotion, offering a framework for thinking about what happens after the manuscript is finished.
The session runs from 10:25 to 11:40 a.m. PST.
The Summit also includes a new Lunch-Hour Speaker Panel, taking place from 11:40 a.m. to 12:10 p.m.
Rather than simply moving from one presentation to the next, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the speakers during a relaxed, moderated panel. Audience members can ask questions about the topics covered throughout the day and connect with the presenters.
A.G. Billig, Kris Keppeler, and Robin Eddleman have confirmed their participation in the panel, while Ben Spada is expected to join as well. No preparation is required from attendees.
At 12:20 p.m., Kris Keppeler presents “The Audiobook Prep Guide for Authors.”
Keppeler is an audiobook narrator, voice actor, actor, and writer who has narrated and produced more than 50 audiobooks. She also hosts the Kris Talks about the Wisdom of Women podcast, which has more than 300 episodes.
The final educational session begins at 1:45 p.m., when Robin Eddleman presents “Sell It — Marketing and Selling Your Book.”
Eddleman’s background includes marketing, business development, personal development, and auctioneering. Her work focuses on authentic communication, storytelling, mentorship, and relationship-building.
The Summit concludes at 3:00 p.m. with closing remarks, thank-yous, a recording offer, and an invitation to learn more about APW membership.
